Professional Certification
IFMA developed its Certified Facility Manager (CFM) program to help establish
credibility while increasing recognition for the facility management
profession. The certification program promotes professional excellence,
establishes global standards for professional practice, promotes the added
value of the FM and helps to influence the future direction of facility
operations worldwide.
IFMA’s certification process is designed to assess competence in the field
through work experience, education and the ability to pass a comprehensive
exam. It is a tool for the entire breadth of practitioners—from MBAs and
graduates of FM degree programs to senior executives. IFMA also provides a
review course to assist CFM candidates assess their readiness and prepare for
the exam.
